Since launching Incentive Maker, we've seen some of our clients come up with some really interesting prizes for their teams.
We are often asked the question about what makes a good prize, the obvious answer to this is "it depends". Whilst that isn't very helpful, it really does depend, as every team is different and so the motivation behind prizes varies greatly.
The great strength of the prize system within Incentive Maker is that it's completely flexible to whatever your needs. We don't tie you into any rewards systems or catalogs, it's 100% configurable.
Our experience is that rewards / prizes don't have to be costly to incentivise your team, they just need to be fun, or different.
Here are a list of rewards that have been used by other clients already using Incentive Maker.
- Cinema tickets for two
- Lottery scratch card
- Free lunch
- Free use of the vending machine
- Chupa Chup Lolly
- Finish 30 minutes early
- Choose 1 song to play
- Pick someone to do karaoke
- Dip in the sweetie jar
- Cup Of tea/coffee from your line manager
- Team/Duty manager waiter service for a day
- 1 Day of Annual Leave
- 15 mins on the PS3
Some of the created prizes aren't always a reward, but a forfeit, such as:
- Make tea for the team
- Empty the bins
- Pack of tights - have to be worn on your head all day
- Wash up the tea cups
- A used tea bag
One of the best bits of feedback we've had from a client when it comes to choosing prizes, is to get the game players involved in deciding what prizes should be available. This will gain buy-in from the team at the very beginning of the incentive game.
